Eric Shen
Mount Albert Grammar School Activities & Accomplishments
Eric served as the Head Prefect, named two-time Best All-Round Boy, and Proxime Accessit to Dux. He gained a total of 10 subject scholarships across two years and was named National Outstanding Scholar. His product design also placed in the top 10 in New Zealand for two years consecutively. He Co-Captained the Premier Debating Team and won MAGS’ first premier title. He also served as the principal school pianist, and later returned to accompany the Centennial Choir to the national title.
Current Position & Interests
Eric is a biomedical engineer currently working on several projects in deep tech, medical innovation, and research commercialization. Outside of his projects, he sits on local and national investment committees to support New Zealand’s technology, entrepreneurship, and translational research initiatives to thrive in both domestic and global markets. In 2025, he will be relocating to the United States to continue in these spaces.
